Find Your Calm

I have a very busy head and can easily tie myself up in knots with anxious worries, doubts and a never ending to-do list. If I don’t calm all that noise down, it leads to a very stressful and unfulfilling day.

Daily exercise is a great way to relieve the stressful feelings that build up inside me. I have two Goldendoodles that are amazing “treadmills” and don’t give me a choice but to take them for long walks and hikes.

What I feed my body makes a big difference in my mood and energy level. I’ve recognized the importance of eating healthier and more nutritious foods. When I occasionally indulge my cravings, I consider it a treat or reward and am able to feel good about it instead of blaming myself for slipping up.

I start my day with morning meditation and journaling. It helps calm all the busyness in my head, helps me focus on the present and grounds me in the values I hold dear. Over the years, I’ve incorporated several different modalities into my daily practice. Meditation, devotional prayer, positive affirmations, journaling, massage therapy and yoga are all wonderful tools and highly beneficial to your overall self care.

Honoring my faith with practical application is essential in understanding my life journey, providing me with a purpose and path to follow. It gives me unconditional acceptance, comfort, peace and hope. Your spiritual beliefs are a core foundation to your wellbeing.

I give myself permission to be myself. Accepting that I am only human, with many faults and imperfections. That I will stumble and fall. That I am not always right and that I cannot control everything in my life.

The key is to strive to learn from our mistakes, to seek guidance and continue to grow throughout our lives, to be happy in what each day brings, to find joy in everything we already have and to share our love, happiness and passions with others.

Let your light shine brightly, Namaste my friends!

Finding Your Unique Strength

Have you ever considered what makes you, you? If you have ever questioned what makes you unique or what about you stands out from others, you are not alone in comparing yourself in a world of highly successful individuals. However, it is absolutely useless to compare yourself to anyone else, because there is only one perfectly created YOU. There is only one individual who walks in your shoes, and that individual is YOU.

I’ve doubted myself enough and compared my accomplishments and success to others enough to know it is not only a huge waste of time, but an unproductive and energy draining thing to do. My life journey is uniquely mine. When I decided to appreciate and take ownership of my life for a greater purpose, everything became clearer and made much more sense. My stress lessened, my doubts eased and my worries subsided. I felt more in control, more confident and more empowered to work harder and more passionately toward my goals.

I am who I am today, because of where I’ve been, what I have experienced, and what I have learned. My personal and professional success will come exactly at the time I am ready to accept it. For each of us this timing is different, because each of our journey’s are different.

Through my journey, I have a much better sense of who I am and what makes me unique. Also, I am blessed and fortunate to have a fabulous circle of support to lean on and learn from. Collaborating and brainstorming ideas with like-minded colleagues keeps me grounded and focused. My family and friends are always understanding and encouraging.

If you continue to struggle and wonder with what makes you unique, reach out to those who know you best. Ask them to share with you how they would describe you. What they feel makes you unique. And what they see differentiates you from the crowd. You may just learn something you completely dismissed or took for granted about yourself.

Turn The Page On 2019!

We are well into the New Year and yet I catch myself looking back at past challenges that weigh me down and needlessly occupy my thoughts with worries and doubts. There is absolutely nothing I can do about the past. My only productive option is to keep moving forward; otherwise, I’m paralyzed from moving at all. I decided a very long time ago that these insecurities are unhealthy and unproductive, so I put them aside until I feel strong enough to overcome them once and for all.

When I do look back, I appreciate all my cherished memories, lessons learned and focus in on how far I have gone. What helps me to move forward is understanding that I cannot change my past, but I have the ability and control to change my future.

  • Reseting my focus to new goals gives me a fresh and reenergized perspective.
  • Appreciating everything that I achieved and accomplished last year helps me sustain a healthy and positive mindset.
  • Reflecting on struggles and disappointments provides valuable insights on what I need to adjust, work on doing better or changing all together.
  • Understanding that I am in control of my thoughts and actions, empowers me to take responsibility for what I do next and where I go from here.
  • Sharing my experiences and goals with others provides a valuable network of support.
  • Remembering that I am not perfect and will make mistakes, that “life is a journey, not a destination” gives me the freedom and opportunity to learn and grow.

Cheers my friends to an amazing year ahead!
